Compound Audio – Terms & Conditions
Last updated: January 2026
1. Introduction
These Terms & Conditions apply to the use of the Compound Audio website and all products and services provided by Compound Audio, including audio services and digital downloads. By using this website or purchasing any product or service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
2. Services
Compound Audio provides audio mixing, mastering, post-production, vinyl pre-mastering, and related services. The scope of each project will be agreed prior to commencement. Any work requested outside the agreed scope may incur additional charges.
3. Digital Products (Sample Packs, Downloads, Presets)
All digital products are supplied as downloadable content. All sales are final once files are downloaded. Digital products are licensed, not sold. You are granted a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the content in your own productions. You may not redistribute, resell, sublicense, or create competing products. Compound Audio is not responsible for DAW compatibility issues.
4. Payments
Website orders require full payment upfront. Direct or bespoke bookings over £100 require a part payment before work begins, with the balance due prior to delivery. Compound Audio reserves the right to withhold files until payment is complete.
5. Revisions
Unless otherwise agreed, up to two reasonable revisions are included. Revisions must relate to the original brief. Major changes or new files may be treated as a new job.
6. Client Responsibilities
Clients confirm they own or have permission to use all supplied materials and that files are correctly prepared. Compound Audio is not liable for issues caused by poor source material or incorrect information.
7. Approval & Subjectivity
Once final approval is given, the project is considered complete. Audio is subjective and playback differences across systems do not constitute faults.
8. Vinyl Disclaimer
Compound Audio is not responsible for pressing/cutting defects, manufacturing issues, or problems caused by poor source mixes. Test cuts are recommended.
9. File Delivery & Storage
Files are delivered digitally. Session files and masters are retained for up to 12 months. Long-term archiving is not guaranteed.
10. Intellectual Property
All website content, branding, sample packs, and materials remain the intellectual property of Compound Audio unless otherwise stated.
11. Idea Submissions
Unsolicited ideas or materials submitted without a written agreement may be used by Compound Audio without obligation or compensation.
12. Website Use
You agree not to misuse the website, attempt unauthorised access, scrape data, or interfere with site functionality.
13. Termination
Compound Audio may suspend or terminate access to the website or services at its discretion without liability.
14. Limitation of Liability
Liability is limited to the amount paid for the relevant product or service. Compound Audio is not liable for indirect or consequential losses.
15. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify Compound Audio against claims arising from misuse of services or breach of these Terms.
16. Privacy
Personal data is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.
17. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England & Wales.
18. Compound Dubz batch run T&Cs
18a) Test Cut Policy
For new customers, we strongly recommend ordering a test cut of your track(s) before
committing to a full batch run. Test cuts are available at a discounted rate, 20% off the listed
website price for a single cut, including any selected optional add-ons. Choosing a test cut
allows you to review the audio quality, levels, and overall compatibility of your track with the
lathe‑cut format before larger quantities are produced. Please note that if you choose NOT
to order a test cut and proceed directly with a batch run, any dissatisfaction with the final
result does not qualify for refunds, replacements, or returns. This policy ensures clarity and
fairness, as test cuts provide the opportunity to identify and resolve any issues before full
production.
18b) Sound Quality and Playback
We take great care to achieve the best possible sound quality test cut before moving on to
the final batch run. However, since this is a vinyl format, playback can vary depending on
your setup. Differences in turntables, age/usage of stylus types, and tracking weight may
affect how certain frequencies are heard. Please ensure your stylus weight and tracking are
correctly set for optimal playback. Lathe-cut grooves are shallower and less uniform than
pressed records, so proper setup makes a noticeable difference.
18c) Minimum Order amount
A minimum order of 10 copies applies; pricing may vary depending on the audio length and
quantity ordered. A 10% surcharge applies to orders of 10 copies. Orders of more than 10
units qualify for the bulk rates listed in the pricelist. The surcharge is waived entirely for
orders of 20 copies or more.
18d) Maximum Order amount
To keep production running smoothly and maintain a healthy workflow, we cap each order at
a maximum of 100 units. This limit applies to the combined total of all projects within a single
order. If you place an order for 50 units and return a week or more later wanting another 50 units
(or more), That’s absolutely fine, it simply depends on our current turnaround times and any
deadlines we’re already working to. We’ll always be upfront about availability and will do our
best to accommodate you. We’re happy to discuss, adjust, and find a fair compromise
wherever possible, as long as it keeps the schedule realistic for everyone involved.
18e) Additional Copies & Re-Cuts
If you find yourself needing more copies due to strong demand, we’ll provide you with a
turnaround estimate. Since we’re always working on new projects, we can’t cut additional
copies immediately, but we’ll slot your request into the queue and give you a realistic
timeframe for completion.
18f) Centre Labels & Stickers
Please note that centre labels and sleeve stickers may have slight variances in colour
compared to the original artwork, though this doesn’t occur in all cases. A tolerance for
minor imperfections should be expected.
18g) Plausible Returns
If any copy is found to be unsatisfactory or if a buyer raises a concern regarding a specific
issue with their record, please note that we require the item to be returned to us for
inspection. Should the reported issue be verified, we will be happy to provide a replacement.
Eligible issues for replacement include, but are not limited to:
- Skips or jumps caused by kissing grooves
- Excessive surface noise that overpowers the audio on playback
Please be aware that each record is cut in real time. Unlike pressed records, where a single
master stamper ensures identical copies, lathe‑cut records are produced individually. Over-extended
production runs, the cutting lathe may behave differently, and on rare occasions,
a blank disc may contain defects prior to audio being cut. We also want to highlight that overall loudness
may be lower than a pressed record due to the technical limitations of the VR lathe system.
We always aim for the highest cutting volume possible within safe and accurate cutting parameters,
but variations in loudness are a normal characteristic of the format. For this reason,
complaints relating solely to loudness are not eligible for replacement or refunds.
Every record is cut with the utmost care and monitored throughout the process. However,
Due to the nature of real‑time cutting, there may be rare instances where an issue is not
immediately detectable and may slip through quality control.
18h) Postage & Packaging (UK)
Orders of 10 copies we use Royal Mail 24hr tracked, Orders over 10 copies we use DPD next day
24-hour tracking as well as additional insurance to cover the value of your package.
18i) Postage & Packaging (Overseas)
We will find the best prices for overseas postage and packaging for you. POA*
18j) Postage Insurance Policy
For customers placing large batch‑run orders, we strongly recommend adding postage
insurance for additional protection. This ensures your items are covered in the event of loss,
theft, or damage during transit. Please note that we cannot be held responsible for any items that are
lost, stolen, or damaged once they have been handed over to the postal or courier service.
Choosing to add postage insurance is entirely at your discretion at the time of ordering.
We are happy to discuss insurance options with you when reviewing your order and can
provide a clear breakdown of the associated costs so you can make an informed decision.
If postage insurance is declined, the shipment will be sent at the buyer’s own risk, and no
compensation or replacements can be offered for issues arising during transit.
